Abstract:

Current data centers widely adopt a “short-link,multi-branch” power distribution architecture. While individually configuring DC circuit breakers for each branch can achieve reliable isolation, the total investment increases significantly with the number of branches. To address this, a current-limiting multi-port DC circuit breaker (CLMP-DCCB) without fully-controlled devices is proposed. The working process of the CLMP-DCCB is first theoretically analyzed in stages. Subsequently, the relationships among voltage stress, current stress, and key topological parameters are examined, and a corresponding parameter design method is proposed. Finally, a comparative simulation is conducted on MATLAB/Simulink between the proposed CLMP-DCCB and relevant typical schemes. The results demonstrate that this solution offers significant advantages in reducing overall system costs and enhancing breaking performance, providing effective technical support for the application of CLMP-DCCB in power distribution systems of data center.
