Forced Turn off Technology Applied to Static Transfer Switch in Microgrid

Abstract:

In order to solve the problem that the static transfer switch of the thyristor in the microgrid is hard to shut off,a kind of forced turn off method combined with the energy storage converter in the microgrid is proposed and the mathematical model of the method is also given.The topology characteristics in the structure of energy storage converter are used to apply the reverse voltage to the thyristor during the operation of changing mode of grid connected to isolated network.The thyristor current is dropped to zero to complete the forced turn off.By analyzing the mathematical model of the proposed method,the main factors affecting the forced turn off technology are revealed.In order to solve the application problems in practical engineering,the forced turn off control process in practical application is also given.Finally,the correctness of the proposed method is verified by the simulation analysis and the test.
