Research on Impact of Energy Storage System on Small Signal Stability of Power System

Abstract: According to the situation of energy storage system connected to the interconnected power grid,the impact on the small signal stability of the power system was studied from multiple perspectives.The topological structure and mathematical model of the energy storage module were constructed,including power decoupled control,state of charge calculation,current limit link and voltage ride-through model.The interconnection system model with energy storage system was established,the influences of transmission distance of energy storage power stations,power of interconnected systems,grid connection points,and grid storage capacity,as well as the power system stabilizers on the small signal stability and low frequency oscillation characteristics of power system were studied by the eigenvalue analysis and time-domain simulation methods.Finally,through simulation analysis of transmission line from Shihe to Chunshen in Henan power grid,the effects of energy storage in improving the small signal stability of the power system are validated.
