Analysis on Motion Characteristics for Contact Release Process of Double-Break Contactor

Abstract:

Breaking speed of contact is an important factor affecting the arcing characteristics of contactors.Motion speed of the moving contact depends on spring stiffness,damping,and compression.Hence,it is necessary to explore the influence of spring parameters on the motion state of the moving contact.A constitutive model of moving contact and movable parts during the contact breaking process for double-break contactors is devoted to being established. Theoretical and simulation results indicate good consistency.Subsequently,the influencing factors on the motion speed of the moving contact and movable parts are investigated.The results demonstrate that the relationship between the final velocity of movable parts and the influencing factors can be approximated by simple functions.
