Abstract:

The rapid development of the national economy has brought relatively unbalanced load distribution, which brings greater challenges to the stability of the grid frequency.Thermal power units have stronger stability than renewable energy,so they need to play a more important role in grid frequency regulation. In addition, with the increase in the proportion of renewable energy power generation in our country, the pressure on the grid frequency adjustment that thermal power units need to bear is gradually increasing. The automatic generation control(AGC) auxiliary service policy has brought new opportunities and challenges to the development of energy storage technologies. This article analyzes the actual output data of a thermal power unit in Central China, the optimal configuration plan for power-side energy storage participating in grid frequency modulation is given by comparing the benefits of different configurations of energy storage participating in auxiliary services. The algorithm proposed in this article provides a design reference for subsequent thermal power units equipped with energy storage to participate in grid frequency modulation auxiliary services, also helps to improve the consumption of renewable energy.
