Research on Compensation Mechanism of Energy Storage Participating in Auxiliary Services and Operation of Multi-Business Model

Abstract: As a flexible resource,the energy storage system is applied in all aspects of auxiliary services in power systems.However,the current market mechanism for energy storage participating in auxiliary market is not complete,which hinders the commercial development of energy.To overcome this problem,a compensation mechanism for energy storage to participate in peak shaving and frequency regulation was proposed.Firstly,based on the cost of energy storage participating in peak shaving,a step-wise compensation mechanism considering the cycle depth was proposed.Based on the cost of capacity and mileage,a two-part compensation mechanism of frequency regulation considering the opportunity cost was proposed.Then,under the compensation,a multi-business operation strategy of energy storage was proposed,and the energy storage was used in peak shaving,frequency regulation,electricity price arbitrage to reduce the idle time of energy and improve utilization.The simulation analysis shows that the proposed multi-business application model can increase the revenue of energy storage effectively.
