    The DC arc fault in photovoltaic system is seriously harmful for the safe operation of the photovoltaic system.Research on the characteristics and detection method of DC arc fault in photovoltaic system is of great significance to ensure security and reliability of photovoltaic system.This paper summarized the reasons and types of arc fault in photovoltaic system,aggregated the results of the the current international and domestic research of DC arc fault in photovoltaic system.It compared and analyzed the mainstream location method,detection principle and detection method of DC arc fault in photovoltaic system,and summarized the research status and development trend of DC arc fault detector.Finally,the development direction of the research on DC arc fault photovoltaic system were prospected.

    Arc fault is an important cause of electric fire hazard.The generating mechanism and features for arc fault were analyzed in this paper.And a comprehensive review was carried out for both arc fault detection methods and AFCI standards.It concluded that the main issue for arc fault detection was the unwanted tripping.Finally,the future developing trends for arc fault detection technology were discussed,which includes multi-information fusion recognition,self-adaptive protection methods and DC arc fault protection method.

    The causes and basic characteristics of arc faults were summarized,and the hardware circuit of the arc fault was analyzed.The Transformer and control circuit were mainly introduced.Several intelligent arc fault detection methods based on the intelligent algorithm were analyzed according to the time-frequency characteristics of arc fault.At the same time,combined with the development of modernization,the development trend of arc fault detection devices towards intelligentization,systematization and flexible diversification was analyzed.

    DC arc fault detection technique has a very broad range of application prospects in many fields,especially in new energy industry and communications industry.The reasons and classification of DC arc fault were overviewed,and this paper also analyzed the DC arc fault,expounded the different detection mechanisms.Meantime,it pointed out some problems and precautions in the DC arc fault detection technology.Finally,the DC arc fault detection methods were prospected,by multiparmeter information fusion,internet and artificial intelligence techndogy.

    Arc faults have always been a concern for PV systems.The existing techniques that rely on maximal difference in the time domain,or a frequency analysis in the frequency domain,often result in false positives or false negatives because the signal is the only part to be paid attention.The noise caused by the switching frequency and the harmonics of the inverters in photovoltaic system often overlaps the arc signal partially,which makes fault detecting more difficult.This paper presented a method of arc fault analysis and diagnosis using the wavelet packet decomposition to extract the frequency domain feature vector and the statistical method to extract the time domain feature vector.The fault is diagnosed by the position of the system feature plane,which is composed by the feature vector in time and frequency.The characteristics of arc signal was analyzed and the model of arc was established.The method of extracting the feature vector was researched,and the system feature plane was built with the certain key parameters.The results of simulations and experiments show that the proposed method with the low false-positive rate can realize the diagnosis effectively without the interference of the inverter switching frequency and be more applicative than the traditional ones.

    For PV system,from the PV panel to inverter input,there is high voltage direct current during daytime.It is necessary to have a better arc detection and protection methods to guarantee the safe and stable operation of the photovoltaic system.This paper gives a detail description of the DC arc formation mechanism,and a detailed DC arc detection and protection design of PV system.The time domain and frequency domain analysis of frequency spectrum was adopted,and with the cyclic detection of PV system spectrum-parameter signal,the arc fault is detected,tracked and judged in real time.Moreover,the disturbance clutter and crosstalk signal of the sampling process are processed by DSP filtering to prevent the false triggering signal,and the final results of arc fault detection is systematically protected to prevent the damage of DC arc.

    SF6 is a serious greenhouse gas,and recently,C5F10O and its mixtures attract great attention as a potential newly enviromental-friendly insulating medium.This paper experimentally studies the arcing characteristics of C5F10O-CO2 mixture,with an experimental model with viewing windows,and measures the arc voltage,current and emission spectrum.Then the two-dimensional distribution of arc is obtained and analyzed by the inverse transformation of Abel.The results show that,the C5F10O-CO2 mixture arc is more volatile than SF6 gas,and adding C5F10O into CO2 improves the stability of the arc,and significantly reduces the arc temperature.

    The least-squares support vector machine algorithm is applied to detect the aviation fault arc in this paper.The LS-SVM learning machine is constructed at first.The feature vectors extracted from fault arc information are used as the input vectors of least-squares support vector machine.LS-SVM classifier is trained and tested to identify the aviation fault arc for linear load,nonlinear load and unknown load.The results show that the algorithm can effectively identify whether arc occurs,but the judgement of specific types of fault arc still needs to be improved.

    In the process of partial discharge detection of high voltage switchgear,the partial discharge detection accuracy of high-voltage switchgear is affected by the external electromagnetic interference in the working field of high voltage switchgear.Based on the development and research of partial discharge anti-interference system of switchgear,the reason of the formation of four partial discharge defect models of high voltage switchgear and their respective characteristics were analyzed.The advantages,disadvantages and principles of partial discharge defect model detection in switchgear were introduced.The experimental platform of anti-interference detection system for high voltage switchgear was set up.The dual-sensor based on TEV and receiving electromagnetic wave receiver developed by the experiment is validated to effectively inhibit the interference from the communication noise and the corona interference on the outer surface of the switchgear.It realizes the effective identification and separation of switchgear partial discharge and external disturbance.

    In the product verification and certification test of arc fault detective device,the quality of cable carbonization has impact on the efficiency of test significantly.The success rate of carbonization can not keep in a high level due to the randomness of cable making.This paper provided a way to increase the success rate of cable carbonization.After research into the step of cable making the paper replaces the creepage distance which is hard to measure with appropriate bending angle,and represents stop smoking in carbonization by specific criteria current through carbonization path.These two values prove each other correlatively so that we find a way to increase the success rate of cable carbonization.

    Because of the different test site and test load,AFDD often fails to accurately identify every fault arc or false release which leads to the failure of the test.In view of this situation,this paper discussed the test method about series arc fault test,parallel arc fault test and inhibitive load shielding test for AFDD,to provide some reference for detection mechanism and production enterprises.

    Aiming at the test method of arc fault detection device(AFDD),an arc fault waveform simulation device was developed.With mechanical arc generator,arc fault waveform database is established,and the waveform data in the database is restored by digital-analog conversion,signal isolation and power amplification,and upper computer platform,so that the action characteristics of AFDD can be tested.In this paper,a joint simulation environment was built by LabVIEW and Multisim to verify the feasibility of the program.Then,the hardware module was designed and the whole process of the arc fault waveform was realized with the host computer.

    This paper introduced the basic situation of the breaking test of high voltage AC circuit breakers and the status quo of arc fault detection at home and abroad.A protection method for re-ignition arc faults in the high voltage circuit breaker breaking test was proposed innovatively.The hardware and software’s parts of the protection device design and development were discussed.The test detection and example application verified the feasibility of this protection method and the reliability of the device.The protection method and device meet the requirements of the standard,and improve the inspection efficiency and positioning accuracy,which ensures the fairness of the detection and the effectiveness of fault location,it has some promotional and reference significance.

    This paper analyzed the current situation of the research on DC arc fault detection in PV system.With common time-frequency domain detecting method,it did the DC arc fault detection and test in different PV system and the operating conditions.Based on the test results,the paper summarized the time-frequncy domain characteristic of DC arc fault,and the influence of different system and condition on DC arc fault detection.Finally,a DC arc fault detecting device of PV system was developed,which can used in DC arc fault detection inter different PV system and working condition.The effectiveness of the device was verified.
