Abstract:

Aiming at the difficulty in online monitoring of protective fuse status for rectifier modules of HVDC systems in data centers, an online monitoring method based on the voltage disturbance differential technique is proposed. This method requires no extra hardware and is realized via controller software upgrade. By adopting intelligent inspection and the “timed+dynamic” composite strategy, controllable voltage disturbances are actively injected. The output voltage of rectifier modules and bus voltage are compared through differential calculation to realize accurate identification of fuse status. Experimental results demonstrate that fuse status can be identified within 1-3 s with 100% accuracy. The bus-voltage fluctuation is superior to the ±1.0% specified in GB/T 38833—2020, and no attenuation occurs in system load-carrying capacity. Featuring high compatibility and practicality, this technology can be seamlessly integrated into the operation- and- maintenance platform to replace manual inspection. It improves the power-supply reliability and operation-automation level of HVDC systems, and provides support for intelligent operation- and- maintenance of AI computing data center HVDC systems.
